VISA for NRN

Pursuant to the Immigration Act 1992 and Immigration Rules 1994 of Nepal, a non-residential visa may be issued for a period not exceeding Ten (10) years to the foreign citizen of Nepalese origin or his/her family resided or has made investment in Nepal and who has acquired an identity card. A person supposed to receive the identity card pursuant to the Act or Rules shall not be liable to pay the visa fee. The period of visa issued may be extended as per necessity.

Non-Residential Nepalese Visa could be issued for following reasons:

  • If any foreigner of Nepalese origin residing in a foreign country intends to reside in or carries on trade or business in or carries out study, teaching or research work in any subject in Nepal, the non-residential visa may be granted to such a foreigner and his/her family members.
  • A visa referred may be granted for a period not exceeding ten years at one time, and its term may be extended as per necessity.

The mission or the Director General, with the approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs, of the Department of Immigration can issue and renew the visa for NRN citizen.
